About Yolonda....
20 years ago, Yolanda studied Spiritual Life Coaching under the direct tutelage of best-selling author, Iyanla Vanzant and she has been on a journey of black community healing ever since.
Ten years ago, under the pseudonym, MhoganiPearl, Yolanda co-authored the novel "Dear Yvette: Shattered Fairytales" which is a personal and powerful account of Yolanda's own life. An urban girls journey to self-love and self-acceptance that was powered by forgiveness, Dear Yvette chronicles Yolanda’s story as a sexual abuse survivor, who experiences a therapeutic journey to self-love that empowered her to overcome the emotional, mental issues associated with a turbulent childhood and adolescence. The release of her book led to Yolanda being invited to participate in a 3 year national initiative on trauma via ACES (Adverse Childhood Experiences) during the Obama Administration under the White House Council of Women and Girls that was chaired by Valerie Jarret and Tina Tchen.
Yolanda courageously ignites the hard conversations and finds that the urban community naturally gravitates to her transparency and willingness to share her own stumbling blocks and successes. People find her journey empowering, inspiring, persuasive and relative to people of urban backgrounds.
Yolanda uses peer support as a passion and area of expertise to empower others to live their best life! As a military veteran, in 2010 Yolanda found herself divorced, immediately homeless, a single parent and out of work in the midst of a tough national economic recession. She was blessed to take refuge in a transitional program for homeless female veterans. Today, she has launched a 6,000 sqft wellness center in the city of Atlanta, called The Kindred Healing Center, where she graciously supports the urban community and the veteran community with holistic healthcare options. She now specializes in curating sacred healing spaces across the country while culturally competently supporting the urban community to heal ourselves!
